Το Εργαστήριο Παράκτιας & Θαλάσσιας Έρευνας ανήκει στο Ινστιτούτο Υπολογιστικών Μαθηματικών (Ι.Υ.Μ.) του Ιδρύματος Τεχνολογίας Και Έρευνας (Ι.Τ.Ε.). Δραστηριοποιείται στην παράκτια και θαλάσσια έρευνα, καλύπτοντας ένα ευρύ φάσμα μεθόδων και εφαρμογών, με στόχο την ολιστική προσέγγιση των προβλημάτων στο σχετικό χώρο (αλληλεπίδραση ξηράς, θάλασσας & ατμόσφαιρας). Η κύρια έρευνα του εστιάζεται στην μοντελοποίηση και τις υπολογιστικές μέθοδούς με εφαρμογές στην πρόγνωση κυμάτων-ρευμάτων, θαλάσσια ρύπανση, υδρο-μορφοδυναμική παράκτιων περιοχών, επιχειρησιακή ωκεανογραφία, ανάπτυξη περιβαλλοντικών & κοινωνικοοικονομικών δεικτών για εκτίμηση κινδύνου λόγω κλιματικής αλλαγής σε παράκτιες περιοχές, παρακολούθηση του παράκτιου και θαλάσσιου περιβάλλοντος και κατασκευή σχετικών βάσεων μεγάλων δεδομένων. Καθώς και έξυπνα online συστήματα & υπηρεσίες για υποστήριξη της θαλάσσιας επιτήρησης & ασφάλειας και της γαλάζιας ανάπτυξης.
